A Special Gift

A personalized special gift.

I saw the saying "Our Greatest Blessings call us Grandma &  Grandpa" and knew that I wanted to personalize a frame with that saying for my boss.  Her grandkids call her by her nickname "Beans"!  That, to me, is so special and unique.

I bought a frame at Wal*Mart....

 Added a personalized sentiment...

and the grandkids' names...

and now have one personalized special gift.
I love how the white vinyl pops against the pictures.

As I have said before, when you take the time to personalize a gift like this, you are guaranteed that they will not have another one like it!

Thanks for stopping by!

"Valentiny" Cards

WARNING
MOM and CASEY
STOP LOOKING NOW
IF YOU WANT TO BE SURPRISED!

If you are looking for the Valentine's Day Card Blog Hop click HERE.

Challenge #96 over at FCCB is to create a 3x3 card for Valentines day. I created a couple of "Valentiny" cards.  One for my mom, and one for my friend, Casey.   Hence the warning!

Mom's Card

No Cricut here but I LOVED the glittering, blingy heart stickers and I used the
new corner chompers that she got me for Christmas. Sweet and Simple.

Inside is
"Happy Valentine's Day"
"Redeem this card for one Gel Manicure!"

Recipe:
Stickers: Jolee's Boutique - Animal Print Hearts Repeats
Corner Chompers: Scallop (the light purple handle)
I think all of the cardstock is Bazzil's "bling" cardstock.
It is from my scrap pile.

Casey's Card

Casey loves penguins!

This card is made, matchbook style.
I used the top of the border punch to hold the top of the card.
Foam tape was used on the penguin to create dimension.

Embellished with a heart brad from my stash.

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridge: Create-A-Critter (cut at 2")
Fiskars border punch - name unknown
All cardstock is from my scrap pile!!  YIPPEE!!
Heart brad
Black Glaze pen used for the eyes.

A "Classic" Birthday Card for Dad!

If you are looking for the Valentine's Day Card Blog Hop look HERE!

I can't tell you how long it's been since I made my dad a handmade personalized birthday card.  Last year I was preparing for surgery on his birthday after not being in a good place since December (everything is GREAT, now).  Before that I worked at a major card company and hadn't made my own cards for years!!!

I recently created a 50's layout inspired by a Club CK One Hour Challenge.  The challenge was to create a layout inspired by a TV show or movie.  You can see the layout here.  While I was working with the classic car, I thought that it would be perfect for a birthday card for my step-dad, Dewey!  I'm so excited that I get to see him in a few weeks!

Foam tape was used on the "Route 66" sign and the car to add dimension.

On the inside.
Font: CK Racer

I love the silver metallic Recollections cardstock for the accents.
I buy several sheets each time it is on sale.
I hope there is another sale soon, I only have a partial sheet left!

Recipe
Cricut Cartridge: Nifty Fifties
Cuttlebug embossing folder: Seeing Spots
Font: CK Racer
Cardstock: Textured Black ( The Paper Company ),
Silver Metallic (Recollections), Teal (The Paper Company)
red, white and checkerboard are unknown, they were from my scrap pile
Black glaze pen for the tires

Valentine's Day Card Blog Hop!

Hi, everyone! Welcome to the Valentine's Day Card Blog Hop with Amanda from Love Joy Paper February 3 &4.  You should have gotten here from Adele's blog.  If not, join in on all of the creativeness by starting the blog hop from the beginning at Amanda’s blog.
Amanda sent out goody packages with some My Minds Eye and Pink Paislee patterned cardstock, some twine from The Twinery, buttons she made using Paper Trey Ink dies, and some bling by Kaiser Craft to make a card for her blog hop.  We needed to use at least half of what we received and we could add our own additional stuff.  It has been a while since I made a shadow box card so I dug out the transparencies!

Sorry about the darkness, I forgot how hard these things are to photograph.

In addition to the supplies that Amanda sent me, I used Kraft and vanilla colored cardstock, a  transparency, a few pieces of Bazzil ribbon from my stash and variety of ink and Stickles!
I <3 Stickles!

 Stickles: Fruit Punch and Diamond
It's hard to see, but I also used Platinum Pearl Liquid Pearls on one of the die cuts.

I used foam tape to raise one of the hearts to give it dimension.

Since I have been blog hopping, I have learned to add
a little decoration to the inside of my card as well.
I really like the finished look.
"Love" Stamp is Inkadinkado - Scrapbook Sentiments (98625)

Finally a side picture to show that I doubled the
foam tape to create the shadow box effect.

Now, for some BLOG CANDY!!

A SWEET (ZERO CALORIE) indulgence (Spa Sock Cupcake), 10 yards of ribbon (6 yards of pink, 4 yards of blue), and a "Cute! Cute! Cute!" Hallmark bookmark. A winner will be
