Make me laugh....
Our creation was to be inspired by a funny quote, poem, pun or saying.

Have you ever had a nagging feeling that you forgot something???   The calendar doesn't pop-up with any reminders but you are almost certain that "today" is more than just a "Wednesday"?  A day when no one around you knows (or remembers) what you are talking about when you say "what is today?"  Well that recently happened to me and a couple of days later, I FINALLY figured it out!  I missed a birthday!

Cartridge: Life's A Party
Using the card feature, cut at 5".

I used the layer feature to create the inside circle.
The font is Adventure.

And continuing on the pun journey....here's another card.

At work we collected items to send some "comforts from home" to soldiers currently serving overseas.  We gathered (and bought with donations) enough goodies to fill 5 large postal flat rate boxes (USPS offers a discounted rate if the parcels are going to APO and/or FPO addresses!).

Cartridge: Boys Will Be Boys
The tank was cut at 3.5" using all of the layers.

It's a little hard to tell, but I used the Black Glaze pen to make the
inside of the gears glossy black.
The font is Adventure.
The corners were "chomped" with the lime green handled
corner chompers using "Deco".

Come on over to Cooking with Cricut and link up your creation using a funny quote, poem, pun or saying.   Can't wait to see what you create!

Some exciting news!

Some exciting news!

I am so excited to announce that I am a new member of the  Cooking With Cricut Design Team!  I am honored to join these lovely creative ladies!

Our first project was to help celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday......Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!  Read Across America:  Share a project featuring your favorite Dr. Seuss book or a project that encourages reading.

As soon as I read the challenge, I knew exactly what picture I wanted to use.  I absolutely LOVE this picture of my god-son "reading" to my son.  The picture was taken in 1997.

The stars were cut at various sizes using George & Basic Shapes.
Thing 1 and Thing 2 are digital files from Paper Crafting World.

The journaling is hidden behind the photo.

The stars were cut out using George & Basic Shapes,
embossed with various Cuttlebug folders and embellished
a little with Stickles.  Foam tape was used to add dimension
to a few of the stars.

A close up of Trevor showing Daulton
the pictures as he is "reading" it to him.

Please be sure to check out the Cooking with Cricut site as well as all of
the other creative design team members.  I'm sure you will be inspired.

Join in on the fun and link up your favorite Dr. Seuss inspired or reading themed project.  You could be CWC's next Top Chef!  Check out Cooking with Cricut for the guidelines and link location.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time....Hattie

A Special Gift

A personalized special gift.

I saw the saying "Our Greatest Blessings call us Grandma &  Grandpa" and knew that I wanted to personalize a frame with that saying for my boss.  Her grandkids call her by her nickname "Beans"!  That, to me, is so special and unique.

I bought a frame at Wal*Mart....

 Added a personalized sentiment...

and the grandkids' names...

and now have one personalized special gift.
I love how the white vinyl pops against the pictures.

As I have said before, when you take the time to personalize a gift like this, you are guaranteed that they will not have another one like it!

Thanks for stopping by!

"Valentiny" Cards

WARNING
MOM and CASEY
STOP LOOKING NOW
IF YOU WANT TO BE SURPRISED!

If you are looking for the Valentine's Day Card Blog Hop click HERE.

Challenge #96 over at FCCB is to create a 3x3 card for Valentines day. I created a couple of "Valentiny" cards.  One for my mom, and one for my friend, Casey.   Hence the warning!

Mom's Card

No Cricut here but I LOVED the glittering, blingy heart stickers and I used the
new corner chompers that she got me for Christmas. Sweet and Simple.

Inside is
"Happy Valentine's Day"
"Redeem this card for one Gel Manicure!"

Recipe:
Stickers: Jolee's Boutique - Animal Print Hearts Repeats
Corner Chompers: Scallop (the light purple handle)
I think all of the cardstock is Bazzil's "bling" cardstock.
It is from my scrap pile.

Casey's Card

Casey loves penguins!

This card is made, matchbook style.
I used the top of the border punch to hold the top of the card.
Foam tape was used on the penguin to create dimension.

Embellished with a heart brad from my stash.

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridge: Create-A-Critter (cut at 2")
Fiskars border punch - name unknown
All cardstock is from my scrap pile!!  YIPPEE!!
Heart brad
Black Glaze pen used for the eyes.
