Mother's Day Gift Inspiration

This week at Cooking with Cricut, the Design Team wanted to give you some Mother's Day Gift Inspiration.

My mom often takes treats to work to celebrate a birthday or as part of a potluck or sometimes "just because".  She is as sweet as some of her treats and she always puts thought and love into whatever she makes.  Now she can take her treats into the office in style AND as an added bonus easily identify which containers belong to her!

Secret confession......I thought of making one that said "DO NOT TOUCH" or "NOT YOURS" <insert EVIL grin and menacing laugh here> for those times that the treats have to go into the unguarded refrigerator.

This is a sectioned "chip & dip" container from Wal*Mart.
A tub of dip (ranch, french onion, cream cheese whips, caramel, etc.)
fits perfectly in the center.

This is an "Ultimate 3 in 1" Cake Caddy from Hobby Lobby.
Purchased using a 40% coupon!  I *heart* coupons!!

A gift wouldn't be complete without a matching card.
Previously posted for NSD, but just in case you missed it.

Cricut Cartridge - Alphalicious, George and Basic Shapes
Vinyl - Red, White, Black (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnn's)
Transfer tape (JoAnn's)
Embossing Plate - Sizzix Bubbles (used with the Cuttlebug)
Carstock - Recollections (Michaels)
Ribbons - Various Bazzill Basics (Archiver's)
Adhesive - Glue dots and ATG
Chips 'n Dip Carrier (Wal*Mart)

NSD Fun Continues with an Embossed Card

For National Scrapbook Day (NSD) the My Pink Stamper Designers had a blog hop!  Not only were they celebrating NSD but they were also celebrating My Pink Stamper's new releases.  It's hard to select a favorite set from her new designs.

Along the blog hop there are a few challenges, this entry is for Carissa's (aka Sprinkled With Glitter) challenge to create a project using embossing.  I used my Cuttlebug to emboss white cardstock.

Spots, spots, spots....

I'm pretty happy with my little bow....typically I have the hardest time tying the little bows.

 Inside of card.....

Thanks for stopping by.  Time to go find the next project, I'm on a roll....

NSD....Part 3 of ???

Here's Part 3 of ????  Don't know how many more challenges I will be doing today.  But this is the last one for Pumpkin Spice.  If you haven't already - head on over there and check out the NSD challenges and then play along and link up your creations.

The challenge -

Make a card - any size, even a mini.

  • the color blue
  • something round
  • at least 3 layers or 3 different papers
I wanted to make a card for a co-worker who is in the hospital and this was the perfect challenge.

Here's my take - I started off with a light blue card stock (with the VersaMark it looks more teal) and some patterned papers from a Recollections paper pack.

Wild Card Cricut cartridge set to fit to page.

 Fun shape card.
VersaMark for the flowers.

Jet Black StazOn for the "Get Well Soon!" sentiment.

My cards aren't complete without a little bit of Stickles!

Plenty of space for other co-workers to sign.

Thanks for stopping by...I'm heading out in the rain to go to the LSS.
Don't forget to stop by Pumpkin Spice and join in on the NSD challenges.

National Scrapbook Day (Extended Version)

Still celebrating National Scrapbook Day a day later.  Here's my second completed challenge for the challenges offered over at Pumpkin Spice.  Go check them out and join in on the fun.

Challenge -
Make a LAYOUT - any size, even a mini album layout with the following elements

  • the color yellow
  • something floral, wavey or scrolly
  • at least 1 title

To celebrate Lou's birthday, Daulton and I took her out to Outback Steakhouse, she was craving steak and Daulton LOVES the Aussie fries (and steak).  We can really tell that he is indeed a growing boy....he ate his entire meal and an order of Aussie fries.  Pretty soon I will need to take out a loan (or put him to work) when we go out to eat.  :o)

I used the Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Cartridge and some cardstock from my scrap pile.  I'm feeling good about using up my scraps.

Casey (THANKS Casey!) gave me some twine and I've been having fun trying to figure out what to do with it.  I know one thing is for sure...I can't tie a little bow for anything...if you have any tips for great little bows please let me know.

Here's a close up of the balloon.

May 5th was National Scrapbook Day!

To celebrate National Scrapbook Day I went to Archiver's with Lisa. We both had "projects" to work on and got a lot of them accomplished.  ***I think both of us have ink all over us.***

Since I worked on projects yesterday I didn't have a chance to compete in any of the challenges until today. Where I am home with the internet.

First up......as part of PumpkinSpice's NSD celebration Diana over at DL Art had this amazing challenge inspiration on her blog.  (Which led me to PumpkinSpice. - Thanks Diana!)  Although this is amazing, it is not something that I am going to tackle today (but when I get my TBBM2 cartridge in, I will be trying a 3D project). I have layouts, layouts, layouts and some cards planned to accomplish today.  Here's wishing myself luck that I accomplish them!

I hope you go check out the DLArt and PumpkinSpice blogs, they are full of inspiration and fun challenges!

Here's my first completed challenge for 2012.

PumpkinSpice
Make a Project - Anything Goes!
  • the color green
  • something square
  • at least 1 die cut
Not only did I have "operator errors" with Mister Linky, I also just realized this was supposed to be a PROJECT...not just a layout.)

It feels so good to use up items from my stash and scrap pile.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had a wonderful National Scrapbook Day.
